Error Code 2813-9404 Explained

According to Official Nintendo Support, Error Code: 2813-9404 is an issue that occurs when there is “a temporary glitch or outage in the Nintendo eShop”. Also, there is not much you can do if you get this error code except visit the Network Maintenance page. You just need to wait a few hours for the server to be available.

Another error code 9001-0026 can sometimes appear along with error code 2813-9404. Now error code 9001-0026 says “Our Nintendo Account could not access the Nintendo eShop from a Nintendo Switch console”.

Simply put, this means that your Nintendo account is not accessible to purchase Switch items. To do this, you must first log into the eShop with an account linked to a Switch.
